Prepare for the Certified Food Protection Exam by first completing the Online Manager Training course:

  • 8 Hours in length - study at your own pace with the option to begin training and resume your progress at a later time.
  • Topics divided into 4 Learning Modules:
  • - Unit 1: Foodborne Illnesses and their Sources
    - Unit 2: Safe Handling and the Flow of Food
    - Unit 3: Equipment, Cleaning, and Pest Management
    - Unit 4: Management Responsibilities

Take a Practice Test

After you have reviewed the training course, you can take a 80 question Practice test to assess your understanding of the Manager's food safety concepts. A passing score is at least 60 correct. This test is NOT your CFP exam, but should help you prepare for the actual exam. You can take the exam as many times as desired.

Take Food Manager Exam

  • To earn your Certified Food Protection (CFP) Manager Certification, you must take the final exam in front of a live, online proctor. The exam can be taken on demand Monday through Friday, 7am to 10pm Central Time.

  • The final exam is 95 questions with a minimum score of 72% to pass. Your fee includes two (2) exam attempts.

  • To setup your exam, click the button below and allow 2 to 4 business hours for processing. Exams setup on Saturday or Sunday will be processed on Monday.
